Data screening checks each caller against a data provider you choose, such as a TCPA litigator list, a Do Not Call list or a line-type lookup, before any buyer sees the call. You bring your own account and API key; CallsFlow Plus calls the provider for you.
Adding a provider
- Open Data screening and click Add provider.
- Enter the provider's Request URL from their API docs, using placeholders for the caller:
{{caller}}(+13055551234),{{caller_digits}}(3055551234),{{caller_noplus}}(13055551234), or{{tag:Name}}for a ping parameter. For a POST API, add the JSON body. - Put your API key in Headers, for example
X-Api-Key= your key. Saved keys are never shown again in full. - Under Block when this field… is any of, give the response field that carries the verdict (for example
result.status) and the values that mean "block" (for examplelitigator, known_plaintiff). - Optional: Save fields as call tags, for example tag
linefromresult.line_type. Tags appear as<provider>.<tag>(for examplelitigator_check.line) and can be used in a target's Filters, so one buyer can refuse wireless callers while another takes them. - Choose what happens if the provider fails or the caller has no number: let the call through (tagged) or block it. For Medicare, final expense and ACA, blocking is the usual choice.
- Optional: pick a list under Never block callers on list for known good callers a provider flags by mistake.
- Click Test, enter a number, and check the result before turning it on.
Turning it on
Open the campaign, click Edit, and tick the provider under Data screening. From then on:
- On RTB pings, a blocked caller gets a no-bid with the reason Rejected by data screening and a reference, and no buyer is pinged.
- On calls to your tracking numbers, a blocked caller is refused before any buyer is dialed.
Cost and speed
Answers are cached per caller: clean callers for 24 hours and blocked callers for 30 days by default. A publisher pinging the same caller several times costs one lookup. Keep the timeout short (1–2 seconds) so the auction is not delayed.
The lookup log
Data screening → Lookup log keeps every lookup: when, which caller, which provider, the answer, the decision and a reference. It is your evidence that callers were screened. Search by caller number to answer "was this caller checked?". Watch the error count on the provider list: errors mean calls are going through unchecked (or being blocked, if you chose that).
