A tracking number is a phone number a publisher's callers dial. Each one is tied to one campaign and one source, so every call is credited to the right traffic and routed by the right campaign.
Buying a number
You can buy from the Numbers page, or from inside a campaign.
On the Numbers page, use the Buy a number form:
- Choose the Provider (phone carrier) if more than one is offered.
- Enter a three-digit Area code.
- Pick the Campaign, Publisher and Source the number will serve. You must pick a campaign and a source before purchasing.
- Add a Label if you want, for example
Facebook GA. - Click Search. Available numbers are listed.
- Click Buy next to the number you want.
On a campaign page, the Numbers section has the same flow with Buy a number. The campaign is already chosen.
If you see "No numbers available", try a different area code.
Attaching a number you already own
Inside a campaign's Numbers section, click Attach one I own, pick the number, choose the publisher and source, and click Attach. This moves a number from another campaign, so it stops serving the old one.
The Numbers list
The Numbers page shows each number's carrier, campaign, publisher, source, label, status and created date. Click Release to give a number back. Once released, callers dialing it no longer reach you. Released numbers stop renting.
What numbers cost
Each number has a monthly rental, charged to your credits when you buy it and again on each monthly anniversary. Every call that arrives on a number also has an inbound call fee, and connected minutes are billed. The rates are on your Credits page. See Charges and rates.
If credits run out
At zero balance, calls to your numbers are refused. If the balance stays at or below zero, the numbers are put on hold and released after a week unless you top up. See Topping up and zero balance.
