A static target is a buyer with a fixed phone number and a fixed price. There is no live bidding: the platform simply dials the number at the price you set. Use one for a buyer who takes every call at the same rate, or as a backup behind your RTB targets.
Creating a static target
- Open Targets and click New target.
- Pick the Buyer, enter a Name, and set Type to static.
- Under Destination, fill in:
- Phone (E.164): the number to dial, with country code, for example
+15551234567. - Price (cents): what the buyer pays for a qualifying call, for example2500for $25.00. - Billable threshold (seconds): how long a call must last to be billable. Optional. - Under Routing, set Concurrency cap, Ring timeout (s) and Failover eligible. See Ring timeout, caps and failover.
- Choose a Billing trigger: Duration, Answered or Confirmed. See RTB targets.
- Click Save.
Then add the target to your campaign's ping tree. See Routing and the ping tree.
How static targets rank
A static target competes like any other target. Its fixed price is used as its bid, so within a tier the highest price wins, then weight. A fixed price that is not above the publisher payout is dropped by the margin check.
Pausing and auto-pause
Set Status to paused to stop sending calls to a static target. If a target fails to connect several dials in a row, the platform pauses it automatically and the Targets list shows an Unpause button. Fix the number or ask the buyer to check their line, then click Unpause.
Tips
- Use E.164 format for the phone number: a plus sign, country code, then the number, with no spaces.
- Set the Concurrency cap to the number of agents the buyer has, so you never send more simultaneous calls than they can answer.
