Target filters

Filters decide which calls a target is offered, based on the call itself. Use them for a buyer who only takes certain states, only wants calls from some publishers, or refuses a publisher on quality, without splitting your campaign.

Setting filters

Open the target and scroll to Filters. Click + Add filter, then build rules:

  • What to check: State, Zip, Area code, Caller number, Publisher, Publisher company, Source, Campaign, or a Tag, which is any extra parameter the publisher sends on the ping, such as SubId or age.
  • How to compare: is any of, is none of, is in list / is not in list (an uploaded list, see below), starts with, does not start with, contains, matches pattern (a regular expression), >, ≥, <, ≤, is present or is missing.
  • Values: type them separated by commas (GA, FL, TX, or zip prefixes like 330, 331). For publishers, sources, campaigns and lists, tick them from the list.
  • No value: under each comparison, choose what happens when the call does not carry that value at all (for example a caller with a blocked number has no state). "Is any of" rules default to doesn't match; "is none of" rules default to matches, as in Ringba.

The rules work like Ringba's: click + OR row to add another row to a group (the group passes when any of its rows matches), and + AND group to add a group that must also pass. The target is offered a call only when every group passes.

Lists

For long lists of zips, area codes or blocked callers, open Lists in the menu, click New list, paste the values or upload a CSV or text file, and save. In a target's filters, choose is in list or is not in list and tick the list. Edit the list once and every target using it follows. A list in use cannot be deleted until you remove it from those targets.

Examples

  • Buyer takes nine states: one group: State is any of GA, KY, MD, ME, NC, OH, PA, TN, VA.
  • Buyer refuses two publishers: Publisher is none of Example Media, Sample Leads Co. To refuse every account a company runs, use Publisher company instead.
  • Florida zips only, and never Acme Leads: group 1: Zip is in list Florida zips; and group 2: Publisher company is none of Acme Leads.
  • Seniors or a VIP source: one group with two rows: Tag age ≥ 65 or Tag SubId is any of vip.

What happens to a filtered call

A target the call does not match is never pinged or dialed; the call goes to the other targets in the routing as usual. In the call's details, the target shows as filtered with the reason, for example Not offered this call: State (TX) is not any of GA, FL.

Ping limit

On an RTB target, Max pings per minute stops us pinging the buyer more often than they allow. Pings over the limit are held back (shown as Not pinged: 60/min limit reached), and when a buyer answers "too many requests" we pause pinging them for 30 seconds. This protects your standing with the buyer instead of collecting rejections.
