Every call shows its Telco cost, so you can see your real profit per call, campaign or publisher, not just revenue minus payout.
What goes into a call's cost
A call's Telco cost adds up the per-call charges from Charges and rates, at your account's rates:
- the per-minute charge for each started minute the call was connected,
- the inbound call fee, unless the call was refused because your balance was zero,
- one dial-out fee for each buyer the platform dialed on the call, answered or not.
The total is worked out in fractions of a cent and rounded to the nearest cent for each call. Your Credits page bills the same charges once an hour for all calls together, so a day's call costs can differ from that day's deductions by a cent or so.
Ping overage and number rent are charges for your whole account, not for one call, so they are not part of a call's cost. You see them on the Credits page.
If your account is not charged for usage, every call's cost is $0.00.
Some accounts are set up by CallsFlow Plus to see the actual carrier cost instead. Then Telco cost is what the carrier charged for the call's legs, which is often a fraction of a cent. Totals add up those fractions before rounding, and a cost smaller than half a cent shows four decimal places (for example $0.0035) instead of $0.00.
Example
A call rings buyer A (no answer), then buyer B, who answers and talks for 2 minutes 10 seconds. At the default rates that is 3 minutes, 1 inbound call fee and 2 dial-out fees.
Where you see it
- Reports: the Summary has Telco cost and Profit after cost (revenue minus payout minus telco cost). In Call details, the Telco cost column shows each call's cost; untick it under Columns to hide it. The CSV export has a Telco cost column too.
- Dashboard: the Telco cost tile is the total for the period, and Margin after cost is the margin left after it.
- Call trace: a Telco cost step shows the call's cost.
When a call gets its cost
A call is priced after it ends, within about an hour. Until then its Telco cost shows a dash. Once priced, a call's cost does not change, even if your rates change later.
Calls from the 90 days before costs were added to CallsFlow Plus were priced once, at the rates in force on that day, so their cost is an estimate.
Who sees costs
Only your team sees costs. Publishers and buyers never see them in their portals.
